“I have been working for Practice Plus Group for four years. I started as a junior physiotherapist and throughout the years I have gained valuable experience. The company supported me to further develop my skills and progress to a senior physiotherapist level by funding well recognised courses and with continuous support and feedback from the MSK team, clinical lead and lead physiotherapists. I now run specialist spinal clinics, providing advanced assessment and treatment to people with spinal pathology. Practice Plus Group continues to support me to achieve advance practice competencies and progress to advance practice level.

“During the day, I assess and treat new patients, review my follow-ups and run exercise classes such as the upper quadrant Pilates class as well as the osteoarthritis group. I also deal with admin work such as discharges and when appropriate, apply for funding for joint replacements.

“With support from our clinical lead, I refer patients appropriately onto secondary care (pain clinic, orthopaedics and rheumatology) if a specialist Consultant opinion is needed and I order appropriate diagnostics for my patients including MRI, X-ray and ultrasound. If required I also request steroid injections which are performed by our Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (APP).

“It’s a great and supportive team environment. We have continuing professional development (CPD) meetings every week, where we exchange ideas and experiences as well as discussing difficult cases and monthly in-service training, covering key topics and often including a practical element.
