Getting here
From the A27 take the turning for Portsmouth (E), Southsea and the A2030. Take the A2030/Eastern Road (becoming Velder Avenue) in the direction of Southsea and Portsmouth (E). Follow the A3020/Eastern Road and continue through four sets of traffic lights.
Once you reach the fifth set of traffic lights, turn on to Langstone Road. Follow this road to the end and then turn left at the roundabout, on to Milton Road. Take the next right and turn into St Mary’s Community Healthcare Campus. Follow signs for the Urgent Treatment Centre.
The nearest railway station to the hospital is Fratton, which is on the London, Brighton and Southampton mainlines. The station is a 20-25 minute walk from the hospital.
Bus services 2, 17 and 19 stop outside the hospital at regular intervals.
You can also catch the number 21, which stops approximately 6 minutes walk away.

At Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth we provide fast, convenient and expert care for any NHS patient with a minor injury or illness that is not life/limb threatening.
Our team of skilled UTC practitioners and GPs can offer treatment, advice and information for a range of minor injuries and illnesses. Our waiting times can be considerably less than emergency departments and if we are unable to help, we can refer or direct you to the most appropriate service.
Patients are treated in order of priority rather than order of attendance. Call NHS 111 before visiting us to get an appointment at a specific time. From 1st November 2022 face masks will be re-introduced as mandatory for both patients and staff, in clinical areas.

FAQs
There are three ways in which you can provide feedback following your visit to the Urgent Treatment Centre. We encourage all of our patients to complete a short patient satisfaction survey during their visit, you can send a letter to the manager or send feedback via our webform at the bottom of this page.
The Urgent Treatment Centre has the capability to undertake repeat prescriptions in emergency circumstances. However, we are not a routine repeat prescription service, this remains your GP surgery’s responsibility.
If you are already under the care of your GP for your condition, our team is unable to intervene in the care your GP is providing you. We will only see you if there has been a sudden change in your condition and we would assess you and get you back to see your GP as soon as possible.
Like all health organisations we are legally obliged to maintain your confidentiality at all times, adhering to the Data Protection Act. This means that any information you share with us is stored safely and only used for the purpose of providing treatment for you. Information will not be shared with anyone else apart from your GP or other health care professionals that are relevant to your care.
No. The car park is operated by Solent NHS Trust on behalf of the local NHS and operates a pay on departure system, Blue Badge holders are exempt.
Yes. We have an in-house diagnostic X-ray department which provides X-ray services during the same opening hours of Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth. X-rays are available for arm and leg injuries.
Yes. We are able to see patients over one year old with minor head injuries, however, if the patient has had a loss of consciousness they should attend the nearest emergency department or dial 999 for an ambulance immediately.
The average waiting time at Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth depends on the time of day, how many patients are waiting to be seen and the urgency of these patients. We aim for you to be seen within four hours.
Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth will have a GP available between 10am–2pm and 4pm–8pm. If the Initial Assessment Practitioner deems it appropriate you will be allocated to the GP list.
On arrival at Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth you will be asked by our reception team for your details which will be added to the computer system. The initial assessment practitioner will wait for your details to appear on their list and will then (within approximately 15 minutes) call you through to take a brief description of the reason you are attending. They will ensure that you are attending for a condition that we can treat and that you are safe to wait. If your condition is not appropriate for the UTC you will be given the appropriate advice of where to attend. You will then be asked to take a seat in the waiting room to be called by the next UTC Practitioner for a full assessment and to take more details of your condition, enabling them to treat and/or advise you.
Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, Portsmouth is open from 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday. Our last patient is accepted at 8pm.
